Building on learnings from past years of experience and working closely with our client partners, ModalConnect  has been architected to be highly configurable to support different business operations and processes for case management, compliance, intelligence, and investigations across sectors such as: policing, defence, corrections, fisheries, security, environmental protection, and other domains.

Our role-based design allows configuration for different operational roles from front-line staff for intelligence collection through to analysts, management, and executive-level positions, with an ability to work within and across departments, organisations, and borders.

We have staff based in Auckland and Wellington, New Zealand and are looking for a new developer to join our team. We offer working arrangements to suit the way you want to work – from home, office, or a mix.

Location is no obstacle as our development practices and communication processes have been designed for a distributed team.

Perhaps you live outside New Zealand in Australia, Canada, United States or the United Kingdom and want to work from your current location or maybe you are interested in a move to New Zealand, and this is your first step.

The Skills and Experience we look for from you:

We are looking for a smart, enthusiastic, and experienced software developer/ engineer with proven skills in the Angular (version 2 and higher)  framework for front-end development (SPA’s, Mobile, Enterprise).

As a skilled Angular front-end developer, you will already be fluent with:

  • typescript, html, CSS, NgRx

  • Git  

  • UI/UX design principles and practice

  • OOP, development best practices, and common design patterns

 

Ideally you will also have experience with some or all of the following:

  • Azure DevOps, Jira or similar tools

  • C#, ASP.NET Core Web API

  • Redis cache (or equivalent)

  • REST APIs (design, development, or integration with)

  • Microsoft Azure ecosystem

  • Development of Test Automation

  • CI/CD Pipelines

  • Databases such as SQL Server

  • Graph databases

  • Visualisation tools

 

You will have a range of soft skills including:

  • being an innately cooperative and collegial team player

  • able to self-manage and organise priorities

  • analytical and a good problem-solver

  • able to communicate and work successfully with a range of people whether they be technical (e.g., analyst/developer/testers) or business (product owner/trainer/ management) or end users

  • be solution-focused with a can-do attitude

  • aim to exceed customer expectations!

 

The responsibilities you will have:

  • Development of UI components and functionality with Angular

  • Contribute to the ongoing development of ModalConnect with ideas and insights

  • Ensure that the solutions you developed adhere to ModalConnect product guidelines and industry best practices

  • Identify and resolve bugs and bottlenecks!
